1 Answer Robert, Yes the motor pulley can be replaced WP21001108 . You'll have to carefully pry or break the original pulley off the motor shaft, then install the replacement pulley. It's not really that involved or hard to do. Read More...
Richard December 15, 2011 for Model Number W225LV - Magic Chef ~ Whirpool Perfoma I have recently replaced my motor switch. A lot of the time now I get a loud buzz when the washer moves to the spin cycle and the motor does not move. If I shut it off and unplug it and rotate the motor slightly and then restart the motor will get going. Also, before the switch was replaced (maybe 12 washes ago) there was a bad burning smell just under the lid. The impedance was about 0.1 - 0.2 ohms lower than spec and I am guessing the start winding burned up finally. Is this washer worth replacing a motor on or is it better to move on to a direct drive unit? The pump, snubber, and timer have all been replaced in the 15 years we've owned it and it has been quite the workhorse.
1 Answer Hello Richard. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the motor 21001170 is bad and will need to be replaced. If you are happy with the washer, then it is worth repairing. Hope this helps. Read More...
