Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Ice Maker Water Reservoir Pan (Part Number: OEM18022059)

1 Answer

Richard, you will want to make sure that the drain tube WP2313851 has the loop up so that the hole in the loop is able to stop any siphoning. If that is good, then you will want to inspect the pan WP2324334 for excessive wear or brittleness. If the pan checks good, then the rubber check valve, which is part of the drain pump W11566407, may be worn out and would need to be replaced. Commonly it is the drain tube loop is not set properly and needs to be adjusted.

I went to restart our ice machine after a long off season. The Water Pan housing for the drain pump was cracked and the drain pump had basically fallen out. I was able to remove the old water pan without any problem at all, but I am wondering how the drain pump would be installed into a new water pan. Does it simply snap or twist into place? There weren't any obvious screws or anything... I assume that I can simply get a new pan (and perhaps a couple new, clean tubes while I am at it) but just want to be sure that I can get the old pump into the new tray- always easier to break something down than to get it back up and running. Thank you!

Avalon Ice, For this unit the drain pump will just twist in and out of the new drain pan on the unit.

Hello. I was just given an Ice Machine that has a missing part or set of parts. I was told that the pump was removed. Looking at it from the back, it appears that there is a part missing that is to the right of the compressor. There is a copper line coming from valve in the space that is just resting with the fitting near the very back. Above the empty space is a white spout that is coming from the compartment above the empty space. I'm wanting to know what is missing.

David, The big open space to the right of the compressor would incorporate a drain pump for if you are not having a gravity feed drain and have to pump the water to a different location. The part number for this pump will be 1901A.

Hello Robin. Sorry, we will not have that information. The manufacturer would be the only one who would know the answer. Thank you.

Hello Steve. I am not seeing a check valve. Either the pan is cracked or the pump is bad and is not sealing good.

Hello Steve. No, there is a cap on the bottom of the pan that keeps the water in the pan.

Brent for Model Number KUIC15NRTS0

Under the Water Reservoir you have a piece that sits down on the water pump 2313705. Right under the water pan (connect on the water pan) is the tube the comes up and goes towards the back of the icemaker. I do not understand what tube and how the attaches to that male end? Right now when water goes in the pan it just seeps right out that hole. Does part number 2313851 connect to it? I think part 2313851 (J shaped tube) sits in the pan and the long piece hangs out of the back but I do not know if that should then be pushed onto that male end that is made on the water pan (underneath the pan).

Hello Brent. The long tube that hangs down under the water pan is the over flow tube. The bottom end does not attach to anything, it allows the water to run down the drain hole.
