Donald March 01, 2014 for Model Number modelDE110 seriel 002309-LP I received part #33313541 for my maytag dryer. I can not seem to figure how to fit this on the tumbler. It looks different than my old one. Can you help me?
1 Answer Hello Donald. Remove the power. Use a putty knife to release the 2 front panel clips and lift up on the top. They are approx. 3 " in from the sides on top of the front panel. Support the top. Then look inside the front cover from the top and locate the 2- 5/16" bolts towards the top of the front panel. Then you lift the front panel away from the front. Mark the door switch wires so you can reconnect them. Then you will be at the front inner panel that the backside is the front tumbler seal in question. Then you reach in from the lower rt. side so that you can remove the tension on the belt. Then you can concentrate on removing the front panel 4 - 5/16" bolts. Then you will be able to lift the front panel up and off. Make sure the lower lint tray to blower hsg. seal is intact. Now you have the front panel off. You can use the drive belt positioned at the center of the tub. Lift up on the slack of the belt and use this to carry it out of the cabinet. Now you very carefully lift up on all the clips holding the felt seal and replace the new one onto it. Don't feel bad if a couple out of the bunch of clips break off due to age and being slightly brittle. Tumbler seal part # 33313541. Get your vacuum out and the rat tail brush to clean all you can. This helps longevity. Thank you. Read More...
Dino October 16, 2013 for Model Number Maytag SG1000 There are two part numbers listed on your website for the front and rear tumbler seal. What is the correct part number for both?
1 Answer Hello Dino, This model went through a series change. Basically what this means to you is the first two numbers of your serial number will determine the drum seal needed. If the first two numbers are 06 or lower, you will need to order part number WP33313541. If the first two numbers in your serial number is 07 or higher, you will need to order part number WP314820. You will need to order two of the one you need since one will be used on each end of the drum. Read More...
James April 04, 2013 for Model Number Maytag DG608 Hey now, our old Maytag DG608 which was in our home when we purchased it 3 years ago has been making a thumping sound when it runs. It sounds like its drum/roller related. While I've got everything tore down, I was going to replace the belt and idler pulley. The clothes aren't getting dry now after one cycle either now, does that mean my front and rear felt seal are compromised? This machine looks like it has been in service a long time without much care. What should I replace as my most likely culprits, tapping into your knowledge base has been a blessing to us.
1 Answer James, The rollers would be the most likely cause of the thumping noise. While you have the unit torn down you will want to make sure you do a good cleaning. It is recommended to clean the blower wheel and ducting as well as the inside of the unit. Also make sure that the vent pipe that runs from the inside to the outside of the home is clean and not clogged. A clogged venting is the normal cause of longer drying cycles as the moisture cannot escape because of the clog and it just stays in the unit causing the dryer to have to be run more than once.
