Noreen W. December 27, 2014 for Model Number 110.84832200 My husband was replacing the 3-pronged pig tail on our Kenmore Duet Large capacity dryer. I called for service as the grey plug was somewhat melted where the prongs come out, and they can't come out until Jan 8th. He dropped one of the screws (the dryer is stacked on top of the washer) while he was balancing himself on his stomach trying to attach the new pigtail. We've looked everywhere and think it's probably under the unit, which we can't move. So he went to Home Depot and got what he thought might fit. I'm concerned that those screws are specially made of some type of metal and not just any ordinary type screw. He tried them and they don't fit. What should we do?
1 Answer Noreen, Your best bet would probably be to purchase the 279393 Terminal Block Screw Kit, You should have everything you need to replace the power cord. The screws and nuts aren't "specially made" and a reasonable substitute should be available at any local hardware store or home improvement center. But you would want to take one of the remaining screws and nuts with you to match up the threads and pitch. Read More...
Drew June 22, 2014 for Model Number AED4675YQ I was trying to change out the pig tail and notice that the screw holding the RED wire was tight and would not come out. During installation it must have been cross threaded. What is the best way to remove without breaking of the head?
1 Answer Hello Drew, All you can do is simply remove it. If it is cross-threaded, the terminal block 279320 will have to be replaced to prevent a fire hazard from a loose electrical connection. Read More...
Tony October 07, 2013 for Model Number 279393 Do you sell packs of only the screws? I'd need some for Whirlpool, Frigidaire, GE and Maytag dryers.
Chris De. September 08, 2011 for Model Number LER8648Pw0 How can you guarantee quality and fit? If you can't tell us what size these screws are in the first place...
1 Answer Hi Chris. Thank you for the question. We sell these daily and have had absolutely no returns about the screws of the terminal block. They are a special thread pitch screw that isn't common. The total quality of the manufacturer's replacement standards meet or / exceed the required OSHA Standards along with Underwriters Laboratory Standards. We have a solid return/exchange policy if there are any discrepancies and are very pleased to have your business. The terminal block assy. is part # 279393. The manufacture does not supply us with measurements. Thank you. Read More...
Eva May 07, 2011 for Model Number wed5510vq1 What type of screw is this? Can it be purchased at a hardware store?
1 Answer Hello Eva! There is two phillip head screws and one flat head screw. The two phillip screws hook up to the black and red wire and the flat head hooks to the neutral. You will have to take the screws to a hardware store to locate an exact match. Thanks. Read More...
