Don November 09, 2019 for Model Number KEBS208SBL00 My KitchenAid KEBS208SBL00 electric wall oven stopped heating after working fine just a few days earlier. The panel seems to function normally. lights, buttons, fans are all working. Power seems fine. I can hear a relay click when I press the Start button. Neither top nor bottom oven will heat. Broiler and self cleaning don’t heat either. Reset breakers to no avail.
1 Answer Don, the relay WP9752759 behind the control panel can be tested for 120VAC by testing the red wires to neutral. If there is not 120VAC, then it is likely that the thermal cut-offs have failed and would need to be replaced. If this is the case, it is likely that there is an airflow issue with the fan or there was an overheating situation that occurred, causing the thermal cut-offs to fail. This would need to be verified either by turning the power off to the unit and testing the thermal cut-offs WP8304452 for continuity or by testing the incoming voltage to the thermal cut-off for 120VAC. If the thermal cut-offs pass testing, then there may be a voltage supply issue. Read More...
Yosef December 27, 2017 for Model Number KEBS277SSS04 The bottom oven read up to 375f will not go higher.
1 Answer Yosef, You will want to check to make sure that the oven sensor is good. The resistance at room temp should be 1090 ohms and for every 1 degree of temperature rise you would add 2 ohms. This would be the most likely cause for this issue. Read More...
John October 28, 2015 for Model Number RB160PXYB4 I removed the oven to replace the light, light works but oven will not.
1 Answer John, You will want to check all of your wiring connections if the oven was working previously but not working now. This would be a loose or pinch connection most likely. Read More...
Ike August 29, 2015 KEBS177BL00 I mistakenly plugged the ground wire in electrical slot and blew up the Control Power Transformer so I changed it. I plugged the oven in correctly and turned the power back on. The oven turned on, but made a weird noise so I turned the power off. I turned the power back on another time to double check but this time the oven didn't open and the door is locked. Is it possible that the thermal cutoff blew up, too? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Ike, I was able to pull up a KEBS177BBL0. If this is the correct model number, the most probable cause of the unit still being dead is the main control board 3181703. While it is possible to open the thermal cutoff, these are normally opened by high temperatures. You can check for power at terminals P3-1, P10-7, P10-8, P8-4, and P9-1. There should be 120Vac on each of these in reference to ground or neutral. I'm sorry but this part 3181703 has been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided. We would recommend contacting a company such as Corecentric Solutions 866-737-2244 corecentricsolutions.com and ask if they support board 3181703. You should also check the door lock assembly 3178410 since L2 has to be passed through the switch on it for the unit to operate properly. Read More...
Inge J. October 14, 2013 for Model Number KEBK206SSS02 Hi, After self cleaning the lower oven it doesn't get warm at all anymore. Neither the oven or broil element heats up at all. Upper oven works fine. I assume it cannot be the thermal fuse since it affects both the upper and lower oven, correct?
1 Answer Inge, Sorry but , you're Wrong... Both ovens have an individual Nonresettable Thermal Cutoff WP8304452. Because your oven is a double oven, and the thermal fuse is located on the back top portion of the oven cavity, you'll need to remove the oven from the wall, remove the back panel, and check and replace the fuse. Shawn October 11, 2013 for Model Number KEBS177SSS I need to replace thermal fuse. This is built in unit. Is the fuse above the heating elements? Would I likely need any other parts? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Shawn. Uninstall the unit and remove the top panel to access and replace the thermal fuse WP8304452. Read More...
Willie October 08, 2011 for Model Number Kebk101ss How do you access the thermal fuse? Is it from back, i.e. Do I have to pull oven from wall? Thx
1 Answer Hello Willie. Yes, you will need to pull out the oven and remove the top and back panel to access the thermal fuse WP8304452. Hope this helps. Read More...
