Irbe September 24, 2017 for Model Number KTRC22KKWH02 The temperature in the refrigerator section fluctuates between 36 and 50 degrees. When it approaches the higher end I notice the fan is off but if the temperature control knob is tapped with my finger the fan turns on and it works fine. On one or two occasions the freezer did not turn back on after defrosting. I am thinking that the control thermostat is not working properly and need to be replaced. Am I correct.
1 Answer Irbe, With the temp climbing and tapping the control panel would most likely be caused by a faulty defrost control board that is causing the unit to stick in defrost. Read More...
Kevin December 04, 2015 for Model Number KTRC19MKBL00 The refrigerator continues to run non-stop as far as I can tell. Freezer has crystals forming on food items and lining. The refrigerator does not get that cold. While defrosting I noticed that the drain was plugged as was the center shaft of the diffuser. Defrosted totally and it seems like the same thing is going to occur. Thank you
1 Answer Hello Kevin, This can be caused by the thermostat WP2302286 or the adaptive defrost control WP2304099. Read More...
David July 01, 2015 for Model Number KTRS19MBT00 Hi, Water leaks out the bottom; the last repairman said the drain is freezing up; a design problem; he pulled out the back of the fzer & thawed out the drain with heat; used to happen every 3yrs , now every 3mos; is this an auto defrost timer problem? or a dirty drain that's clogged up?
1 Answer Hello David. He needs to run a piece of weed eater cord through the drain and clear out any blockage in it. Read More...
Mark March 05, 2012 for Model Number KTRC22EMS00 This is for a KitchenAid refer/freezer. Lately, the unit has occasionally failed to restart itself after it shuts off. If I turn the thermostat to 0 and then back to the setting I want it will often restart, though sometimes I have to give it a little rap with a flick of my finger to get it to start. I'm guessing I need a new thermostat. What do you think?
1 Answer Hello Mark. Yes, based on the information you provided, it sounds like the thermostat WP2302286 is bad and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps. Read More...
