Amy April 12, 2013 for Model Number lha 5500- whirlpool I have a pretty old Whirpool washing machine. Recently it has started giving me problems. It is as if the water is draining while going through the wash cycle causing it to stop washing and refill numerous times throughout the cycle. Any ideas on what it may be. Sincerely, Amy
1 Answer Amy, When the unit if filling and draining the water this would normally be caused by a siphoning problem. You will want to pull the drain hose out of the stand pipe and reseat it to where it is not so far into the pipe. This should clear the problem. Or the stand pipe may not be high enough and it is allowing the unit to drain while running. Read More...
