The Whirlpool top load washer washplate is an OEM replacement part responsible for creating the agitation motion that helps to clean the laundry. The washplate is located in the bottom of the washer drum and is designed with fins or ridges that move the clothes in a back-and-forth motion during the wash cycle. It assists in distributing water and detergent evenly throughout the load, ensuring effective cleaning.

The Whirlpool washplate can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

This part fixes the following symptoms:

  • Clothes not being properly agitated or tangled during the wash cycle
  • Incomplete cleaning of the laundry, with stains or residue remaining on the clothes after a cycle
  • Excessive noise or rattling coming from the washplate during operation
  • Physical damage or visible wear on the washplate, such as broken fins or a loose connection to the drum
