This electric broil element sits at the top of the oven cavity and provides the high, direct heat needed for broiling. Replace it to restore reliable top-down heating when the broiler won't heat or browns food unevenly. What it does:

• Delivers intense radiant heat from the top of the oven during Broil
• Engages for searing/browning; may also cycle during preheat on some models
• Common failure signs: no broil heat, weak or uneven browning, element doesn't glow, or visible blisters/cracks on the coil

• Disconnect power at the breaker and allow the oven to cool completely
• Remove oven racks, take out mounting screws, and gently pull the element forward
• Transfer wires one at a time; support leads so they don't slip back behind the liner
