Maytag Washer LAT9356AAE Won't start or doesn't start

The Timer Knob is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool dryers. It allows users to set cycle durations with smooth, intuitive adjustment.

Symptoms of a faulty timer knob include:  

• The timer knob does not turn or is difficult to turn.
• The timer knob is missing

Causes of a bad timer knob can include loose or stripped internal gears from an extended operation or impact damage during loading/unloading clothes. 

Note: This is the center portion of the knob only. For the complete knob assembly, the cap and skirt must also be purchased.

This washer lid switch signals that the lid is closed so the cycle can run. A failed switch can keep the washer from starting or spinning. Replacing it restores safe operation and consistent cycle performance.

• Senses lid position and enables operation only when the lid is closed
• Interrupts spin when the lid opens to meet safety interlock requirements
• Typical symptoms: washer won't start, won't spin, or stops when the lid is bumped
• Intermittent operation that improves when pressing or holding the lid closed

• Disconnect power before servicing; allow moving parts to stop completely
• Access the switch from the top/console area as directed for your model; note wire-harness orientation
• Secure the switch and ensure the lid strike aligns properly with the actuator
• After reassembly, run a spin test with the lid closed to verify operation
