Diane W West Lafayette , IN April 03, 2017 Appliance: Model SAMSUNG RF4267HARS XX Refrigerator and freezer kept turning off not cooling I had a PE23 code on my Samsung fridge model RF4267HARS-XX. I wasn't initially sure if the problem was really the condenser fan, which matched the code, or the main computer board. I decided to go with the board as they tend to fail a lot and we had a power surge that week. I ordered that part from Appliance Parts Pros. They were extremely helpful. Samsung no longer produces or supports the board in my fridge, even though the fridge is only 4 years old. But APPS found a replacement for it that they guaranteed would work. I was able to get it shipped overnight. When it arrived, I noticed it didn't look much like the board in the unit, so I snapped a pic of them.side by side and emailed APPs. The tech I contacted said the board had been redesigned and this was the right part. But when I connected it, the board made a high pitched squealing sound and the fridge would not turn on. So I called back and this time got a different rep on the phone. She had another tech check.my pics and they discovered that they had indeed sent the wrong board. So they credited my purchase, refunded my shipping fees, Sent me prepaid label to return the wrong part, and overnighter the right one. It was very easy to install. The hardest part was getting good the original board out due to the tightness of the clips. I used a static wrist band and took a few pics of how the original board was wired before removing it. My refrigerator started up immediately and has been running normally now for three days. The repair cost me about $135 with shipping. Had I needed to replace the unit, which is what the Samsung repair tech told me, I would have been out $1800. Read More...
