I have a 25 year old Kenmore washer that works well and didn't want to get a new washer as they don't make them like they used to. Upon removing the top cap of the agitator and doing an inspection, the agitator dogs were completely broken into pieces. Removed the screws, lifted the old lid out of the hinges. Replaced the hinges, set new lid in the hinges and replaced screws. Read more

Fixing the problem was quite simple. First, I removed the lid assembly (thanks to the diagrams supplied by AppliancePartsPros.com!). Getting the back two screws out was very difficult because I couldn't see them from the front and I could not move the unit out of the enclosed space. The video associated with the part was easy to understand. The actual repair was easy - maybe 10 minutes. But getting the top casing of the washer fitted back over the base was a huge pain.
