In situations where the engine must be cleared of gasoline, this valve is very useful. It allows the gasoline in the fuel line to continue to the carburetor and to be combusted in the cylinder. Once the engine block is drained of gasoline, no further ignition of fuel is possible until the cut-off is reactivated.
