Generic Camshaft Oil Seal
Genuine Midwest Engine part
By: Midwest Engine
Part Number: 294606S

This high-quality replacement oil seal prevents oil from leaking where the camshaft exits the crankcase. The camshaft is made of many rotating metal pieces, and while the engine is running, it creates a stupendous amount of thrashing. To keep these parts from rubbing together and overheating, the camshaft needs a good amount of oil. This oil seal helps maintain the right balance of oil in the camshaft. Oil seals can degrade over time after having hot oil repeatedly splashed on them. The most common problem with an oil seal is that it has shrunk or warped and will no longer make a true seal. When this happens, the oil will leak from the engine and the camshaft will begin to overheat. The difficulty of this repair will depend on the lawn appliance that needs repair, but expect to remove the camshaft in order to replace the seal. This part is compatible with engines made by Toro, Lawn Boy, and Briggs & Stratton. It comes sourced from its original manufacturer and ships individually.
