As an ignition coil, this OEM replacement part is tasked with sending voltage to a spark plug whenever the engine is not currently running. It can be used in many tools including snowblowers and lawnmowers. If the ignition coil has malfunctioned or is no longer working, the engine on the lawn and garden equipment will not start. In some cases, a replacement governor arm will also be required.In some cases, when an ignition coil breaks or stops working properly, it will have evidence of cracks, carbon tracking, or burn marks. If visual inspection shows any of those things are present, the ignition coil will need to be replaced. Testing the ignition coil is simple and requires switching it out for a new one to see if the problems stop occurring.
