The Spark Module is an OEM replacement part for GE gas ranges. It is responsible for generating electric sparks to ignite the gas burners on the cooktop. The spark module produces consecutive sparks when a surface burner knob is turned on, which ignite the gas mixture and allows the burner flame to ignite safely and consistently.
Causes of a bad spark module can include faulty electrodes, worn internal components that hamper sparking, or damage due to moisture intrusion or power surges over time.

My problem was intermittent spark and then no spark. My first fix was to give my wife one of those long BBQ grill lighters but after about a week she told me to "FIX IT". Replaced the Broil Burner and Oven Igniter. Removed the door (lifts out easily). Moved out oven to access electrical socket and gas line. Unplugged electricity. Shut off gas. Disconnected gas line. Moved out oven to access back panel. Disconnected Igniter clip. Removed the small access plate. Unscrewed holding screws from broil burner and removed the old Burner and Igniter.
