This is a genuine OEM replacement governor arm sourced directly from the manufacturer for use on various snowblower and snow thrower engines. It is part of the mechanical governor system that controls the carburetor throttle to maintain steady speed regardless of how much stress the engine is under. The governor arm is located on the governor cross shaft. One end is connected to the governor spring and the other is connected to the throttle linkage. The governor arm is pushed in one direction and pulled in another to increase and decrease the throttle speed. If the throttle will not rev or gets stuck in one position, the throttle arm may be the cause. This part could be damaged in impact, for example of the blower is dropped or tips over. If this occurs, the throttle arm will need replaced.Remove the spark plug and drain the fuel before working on the governor. Remove the governor spring and detach the governor arm from the linkage. Install the new governor arm and reattach the spring. Replace the blower parts. Fuel the blower and test.
