I easily ordered a replacement handle and new screws by entering the model number of the refrigerator. The parts came in a timely fashion. The parts were exactly what was needed to fix the broken handle. No special tools needed and the job was done in about 10 minutes (including removal of parts of the old refrigerator handle still on the door). Read more
I checked the internet. At first all the sites that I checked did not have the part or it would take a while to get the handle. Then I saw AppliancePartsPros.com and checked it. They had the part so I entered all the data that I could. They also had a lower price. The part arrived the next day and I opened the box right away and was delighted. Used a simple phillips head screwdriver, removed the old door handle, cleaned the area and installed the new handle using the same screwdriver. Super easy, looks great, exact match. Spendy, but for a rental property it's great to not have to invest in an entirely new fridge and just replace the broken part. Read more
I knew the problem was with the gears and / or the rails they ride on. You can't really tell until you take it apart. Turns out my right side track had a few damaged teeth towards the front. The door has to come off, it lifts right out from the metal slide, no tools needed for this part of the repair. Both baskets have to be lifted out. The plastic gards that go over the tops have retaining clips. Pry the old gears off off the metal slides with a sturdy flat screwdriver.The replacement gears... Read more
