This evaporator assembly is the sealed coil assembly that removes heat from the refrigerator freezer compartment to help maintain proper cooling. Replacing a damaged or corroded evaporator restores the cooling surface for the refrigerant. What it does

• Circulates refrigerant through the freezer evaporator coil to absorb heat from the compartment.
• Enables proper frost/defrost cycles when installed with the appliance's defrost system.
• Restores cooling when a visibly damaged, leaking, or heavily corroded evaporator coil is the cause.
• Helps reduce frost buildup and temperature rise related to a failing evaporator.

• Disconnect power to the appliance before starting any repair.
• Access requires removing interior panels and possibly the evaporator cover; save fasteners for reassembly.
