Soap dispenser door won't open? This dishwasher wax motor actuator controls detergent release. Moderate DIY repair, takes 2 minutes to activate.
Took door off, saw that dispenser linkage was ok, I could open and close by hand, so figured the wax motor or the wiring to it were most likely the problem. I took off the wax motor ( actuator) and ran 120 volts to it via jumper wires, and it did not move at all, so figured good chance that was the problem. We ordered the spring and the fiber connecter. The parts arrived, but all the videos showed the replacement of the spring and cord.
