This replacement part is a ball bearing, and it is intended for use in different types of appliances. This is a genuine replacement part made by General Electric. This ball bearing is found in dryers and is an important part of the machine as a whole, even though this part is very small. Ball bearings are a rolling element that helps carries loads, reduces friction in the machine, and positions moving parts. The main purpose is to reduce rotational friction. A new ball bearing might be needed if the user notices that additional friction is being placed on the tub of the dryer.
