The Door Latch is an OEM component specifically designed for Fisher & Paykel dryers. Located internally, this mechanism securely holds the dryer door shut during operation. 

Prolonged use can cause wear to latch parts like hooks, brackets, and striking plates. Fatigue may prevent components from maintaining a tight door seal.

Symptoms of a failing door latch include:

• The inability to fully secure or “catch” the door closed  
• Audible rattling or looseness of door parts during cycles
• Gaps appearing around the edge of the rubber door seal

Causes range from standard metal wear to impacts dislodging or deforming latch pieces over time. Fractures risk door opening without warning during heated cycles.

These buffer pads cushion the dryer drum/door area to reduce noise and wear, helping the drum spin smoothly and preventing metal-on-metal contact. They restore proper spacing and reduce vibration for quieter operation. What it does:

• Cushions the drum and door interface to prevent rubbing and reduce noise
• Absorbs minor shocks to limit drum wobble and vibration

• Disconnect power (and gas supply if applicable) before beginning any repair
