I replaced the defrost timer, which took about 10 minutes. After replacing the timer, I cleared out some ice that filled up the air passage from the freezer to the fridge (which allows the cold air to pass through from the freezer to the fridge). I went to sleep and the next morning the fridge was ice cold!!! Such a relief that I was able to spend a few bucks instead of hundreds for a new fridge. It was really easy. I found the part number using an online search, ordered the shelf and just inserted the ends into the holes in the freezer walls. Fortunately, I read on a question and answer forum that four end caps were also required. This detail was not listed in the shelf description so knowing this, I was able to order the caps along with the shelf and avoid having to place a second order once I got the shelf and discovered that I needed the end caps.
