Machine Screw
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB01T10049

This machine screw is an authentic OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is used in securing the burner head to the gas range top so that it can be used for cooking. If the burner head becomes loose or the screw is missing, it should be replaced. For safety reasons, the burner should not be used until this screw is replaced; the burner head could shift during cooking and lead to a fire. To start, disconnect the gas and power from the stove to prevent accidental ignition of the burner. Make sure the burners are not hot. Remove the burner grate and burner cap from the burner that is missing a screw. Install the new screw in the hole and tighten it with a screwdriver. Put the burner cap and burner grate back on the stove and reconnect the gas and power. Periodic inspection of the burner heads and all associated screws and parts on the stovetop will prevent accidents and keep the stove working correctly. This screw is a silver, metal part that is sold individually. It is designed for use in gas rangetops manufactured by General Electric and Hotpoint.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Igniter replacement and overall maintenenance   Julio M. • Tucson , AZ • February 13, 2017

Second repair after 10 years of service - igniter had cracked and spill overs were causing the others to misfire. This was a two-step process. I took apart the cooktop to see what parts were neded. Screws were all rusted, I had to drill ome out. The burner gaskets broke during the process and needed replacement. One of the burners had deformed due to excess heat. After that initial diagnose, I reassembled the cooktop without the igniters and ordered all the parts I needed. The second stage was... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Continues clicking from the igniters   Ismael G. • Murrieta , CA • October 28, 2014

I decided to replace my igniters because I suspected that they were shorted. Due to my recklessness, I was too hard in taking them off and broke a couple. But with Appliance Pro's recommendations, I moved on to treplacing the switch harness assembly. I have to say that the replacement of the switch harness assembly took no more than 30 seconds. It was removing the base burners and the porcelain/cermaic igniters from their bases that took forever. Just a heads up to those amateurs like me, be... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You GE glass cooktop kept sparking even after it was lit and would spark randomly during the day all the burners sparked at once   Danny H. • Sunset Beach , NC • February 23, 2021

Well after looking the issue up on YouTube I first tried the cleaning of the burners no help. So I decided I needed to replace either the harness switch assembly or the spark module. I decided that since I had to remove the glass top and install either and put if all back together before I would know if it worked, I just did both at once since it seemed it had to be one or the other. Got the parts ordered for the correct model, turned off the gas and pulled the top. Took about 90 minutes,... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You After a bad spill several burners were no longer working   Darryl B. • Somerset , NJ • November 22, 2016

After a thorough cleaning I decided to change the spark module, harness switch and harness wire burner. Part #318, #323 and #999. I accidentally swapped one wire from the power cord and harness switch. With the help of Suzanne Y. of Appliance Part Pros.com, I was able to correct my error. She emailed me a schematic diagram of my cooktop which helped me to find my problem. My cooktop is now working like new. Read more
