This component is an evaporator cover assembly for refrigerators. At the back of the refrigerator, there is an evaporator that covers the fresh food compartment. This assembly includes the cover and the connected parts, including the fan. A sign that the evaporator is not working properly is if there is an ice build-up. Food may begin to go bad faster when the evaporator is not functioning correctly. If the fan itself is going bad, it may make loud humming noises. Unplug the appliance before replacing this part. While replacing this part, it's a good idea to keep any fresh food in a temperature safe location while the power is off. Wear gloves for safety from cold temperatures and any sharp objects. The evaporator cover assembly and its included parts are compatible with refrigerators that are manufactured by GE. This assembly is sold individually. It is sourced straight from the manufacturer.
