This genuine OEM replacement part is a tub assembly for washers. The tub assembly is the main tub where clothes are placed for washing inside the washing machine. If the washer is making more noise than usual, not spinning properly, or not washing clothes effectively, it might be time to replace the tub. Luckily, replacing this part is a relatively simple repair process. To get started, make sure the power is turned off to the washer. After the power supply has been cut, begin by removing the top panel of the washer to gain access to the interior. Locate the attachment that secures the drum and proceed to remove any screws that are attached to it. Once the screws have been unfastened, make sure to remove any hoses that might be attached to the drum. After that, take both hands and slowly lift the drum out of the washer. Set the old drum assembly to the side and proceed to insert the new one from the top of the washer. Set it on the attachment pieces and then fasten the screws that hold the tub in place. Once secured, reinstall the top panel and restore power to the appliance. This replacement part is sold individually and is compatible with General Electric, Hotpoint, and RCA appliances.

The bearings probably began to fail on my washer 1-2 years ago. We started hearing a clicking or popping noise during a spin which was due to play in the bearings. The failed bearings wore the shaft of the trunnion which caused me to have to replace bearings and trunnion. I was able to find a bearing kit on a very popular internet sales site and replaced the bearings rather than buying the rear tub with the bearings already installed. This was worth it to me but not for the faint of heart... Read more
