Just removed the old one and put the new one in. It is made to remove for cleaning, so no tools are required. The old part was damaged and yellowed with age. I had requested a replacement part from a local company, but had been told that the part is no longer made and is unavailable. Then I decided to look on AppliancePartsPros.com, and not only found it, but replaced it myself for much less than the price of a service call.
