Removed and replaced Sump Inlet. Also made use of the parts diagram to ensure everything when back together properly. No adhesives were needed, except Teflon tape where the main water line connects to the dishwasher. First time to ever work on a dishwasher. Read more

Then I saw the lever arm on the other half of the door, which by position had to be the way that the timer interacts with the soap dispenser. I had to replace the 3 terminals and try to put them in the new terminal receptacle. I replaced the lid switch because I broke the old one trying to diagnose the problem. I found the helpful video on this site after I had already started. Read more

I originally thought it was just accumulated dirt and sludge in the sump and the lines. I cleaned all that and it was not the cause. Saw this video...took off the filter frame and the piston & nut assembly was definitely broke (cap deteriorated to nothing). Need pliers to break it free as in the video. I accidentally ripped the screen taking off the filter frame, and saw a hole from the heating rod on top of the inlet cover so I replaced them too. Very easy replacement project once it was...
