Be careful not to tighten or twist the small hex nut in the knob cylinder/housing with force. there is a very small plastic set tab that can be broken off easily. how do I know? The orientation of the switch "box" is horizontal instead of vertical. otherwise, this replacement part # works as expected. Being as switch was already broken I did not have to remove control panel cover. There was enough wire to pull out of slot to be able to simply switch out the switches, the new one snapped right in. Jenn-Air Model SVD48600 1. Error Code F7: Secured power and replaced the front display or membrane. Screws are along bottom edge and under stove top control knobs. Removed existing display board from membrane and installed it on the new membrane. Membrane wire ribbon end must be clean. Pull up little tabs on each end of socket on display board and ribbon just slips in/out. Push pins back in to secure. I replaced the downdraft fan and fan motor of my 25 year old JennAire C301 cooktop. The issue was getting the fan/motor assembly out in such a tight place. I had to first remove the fan cover, cut the wires, then the assembly came out. Putting back wasn't as tough although getting the cover back on (over the motor) was a bit of a strain. Wired it back, turned it on, and was thrilled. Now I'll replace the knobs and burners and we're back in business. Read more
