Physical appearance by replacing burner caps and burner grate. My wife is a cleaning machine. Only probelm is the grates and caps get slight burn marks on them that are hard to clean. I may try your ceramic cleaner to see if that works better than elbow grease. Read more
This machine screw is an authentic OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is used in securing the burner head to the gas range top so that it can be used for cooking. If the burner head becomes loose or the screw is missing, it should be replaced. For safety reasons, the burner should not be used until this screw is replaced; the burner head could shift during cooking and lead to a fire. To start, disconnect the gas and power from the stove to prevent accidental ignition of the burner. Make sure the burners are not hot. Remove the burner grate and burner cap from the burner that is missing a screw. Install the new screw in the hole and tighten it with a screwdriver. Put the burner cap and burner grate back on the stove and reconnect the gas and power. Periodic inspection of the burner heads and all associated screws and parts on the stovetop will prevent accidents and keep the stove working correctly. This screw is a silver, metal part that is sold individually. It is designed for use in gas rangetops manufactured by General Electric and Hotpoint.
Second repair after 10 years of service - igniter had cracked and spill overs were causing the others to misfire. This was a two-step process. I took apart the cooktop to see what parts were neded. Screws were all rusted, I had to drill ome out. The burner gaskets broke during the process and needed replacement. One of the burners had deformed due to excess heat. After that initial diagnose, I reassembled the cooktop without the igniters and ordered all the parts I needed. The second stage was... Read more

Fairly common problem with gas stoves. Our cooktop- a GE (Sears Kenmore JGP330 series) - is about 10 years old. One burner suddenly stopped sparking. Quick trip to the internet helped define the problem. And a equally quick search of ApplicancePartsPros.com website found the needed parts. Three days later they arrived as promised ... even using "standard shipping." One important lesson learned, however. I found a couple of website showing how to make the repair. All indicated that you needed... Read more

It was so simple, we placed the order on Fri and it was at our door on Sat. All we needed to do was pull the old knob off and place the new know on. Easy, easy, easy. The hardest part was making sure to order the right part but even that was easy. In fact, we tried working with GE directly and they were awful! They would not help us without a model number from the cooktop, which we could not get because it was securely mounted down. AppliancePartsPros.com was fantastic since the search process... Read more

I decided to replace my igniters because I suspected that they were shorted. Due to my recklessness, I was too hard in taking them off and broke a couple. But with Appliance Pro's recommendations, I moved on to treplacing the switch harness assembly. I have to say that the replacement of the switch harness assembly took no more than 30 seconds. It was removing the base burners and the porcelain/cermaic igniters from their bases that took forever. Just a heads up to those amateurs like me, be... Read more
