Tested the power to the unit by turning on the cooktop portion and saw that I had power to all of the burners. Turned the selector knob to broil and saw that the top element would heat up. I then turned off the breaker to the unit. I then decided to take out the baking element to do a continuity test. When I touched it, a 1.5 inch section fell out. Since that concluded my continuity test, I assumed I needed a baking element. After receiving the parts the NEXT DAY (amazingly great service... Read more

During this time, I did settle the new piece of glass in the bottom track of the outer trim. I also the installed the new heat. reflector tape to the top inside edge of the door. Had to leave some... Turned power to oven off at breaker box. Opened oven door. Unscrewed 3 Phillips-head screws on chrome trim around control panel. Unscrewed 2 Phillips-head screws holding selector switch. Laid control panel down on top of closed oven door. Removed wires by hand from old switch and connected them to the same terminals on the new switch (the wire connectors pull off easily). Using pliers, snapped off all but the lowest segment of shaft on replacement switch. Put shaft through hole in control... Read more

I slid the stove out about 10 inches so I could easily get at the bottom trim piece. I removed the long horizontal trim, screwed in the corner piece and then screwed in the long horizontal trim and slid the oven back in place. Read more
