I have one of those combo units with the microwave on top and the oven on the bottom. The thermometer switch located on the upper right side mounted on top of the magnetron read open on a continuity test. Replaced the thermal fuse. Everything works fine now. Note: The thermal switch on the left side read closed, the fan switch on the lower right side read open. I just watched some youtube videos on what and how to test the components. Ordered new film, cut to size with a T square and an exacto knife, use old film as a template. Round corners with a nail clipper. Apply to inside of door, good as new in 15 minutes! Great service, speedy too. Read more
The latch is designed to slide upward with the action of closing the door. Make sure to unplug the microwave if you have not already done so. First take the grill at the top of the microwave off by removing the 4 screws at the top. Next, take the door off by opening it and gently lifting it and moving it off the hinge. Lay the door on a table with a napkin or towel face down so it will not scratch. To get to the latch, the inner panel through which the latch pokes out needs to be removed.... Read more
I replaced the stirrer fan cover and fan, which had some carbon and slight burn marks on it. It was difficult to remove the fan cover as it did not rotate. I had to pry it off with a flat blade screwdriver, breaking the plastic tabs on the cover (which was being discarded anyway). I then cleaned any visible carbon deposits and replaced the cover and fan, using the old stirrer fan holder as it appeared OK.
