Handle Assembly
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB15X10224

The Handle Assembly is an OEM replacement part for GE microwaves. This assembly includes a handle used for opening and closing the microwave door. A properly functioning handle assembly provides safe and easy access to the microwave interior for loading and unloading food items.

Causes of a bad handle assembly can include damage from excess weight or stress on the handles during operation, cracks or breaks from normal usage over time, or issues affecting their usability.

Symptoms of a bad handle assembly include:

  • Loose, unstable, or wobbly handles that feel unsafe to grip
  • Difficulty opening or closing the microwave door
  • Inability to fully access the microwave interior

This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Microwave handle broke   Max W. • Seguin , TX • November 01, 2019

Replaced it with a new one. Used a screwdriver to pry away the panel around the inside of the door glass. Unscrewed the top and bottom screws that held the handle on the door. Removed the old handle and replaced it with a new one. Used tweezers to put the bottom screw into the bottom hole. Used old screws to mount handle since the new handle didn't come with screws. Screw only went in halfway before becoming tight, but the handle was still loose. I tried to tighten them more but the heads... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Lost power to the microwave no display oven still worked   Jose L. • Timnath , CO • October 02, 2016

I have one of those combo units with the microwave on top and the oven on the bottom. The thermometer switch located on the upper right side mounted on top of the magnetron read open on a continuity test. Replaced the thermal fuse. Everything works fine now. Note: The thermal switch on the left side read closed, the fan switch on the lower right side read open. I just watched some youtube videos on what and how to test the components. The 20A fuse was good. So I tested the thermal... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Loud sizzeling noise when heating food   Brian P. • Port Deposit , MD • December 27, 2014

I had to remove the microwave from the range and then remove the cover from the microwave to determine the exact problem. After a visual inspection then discharging the high voltage capacitor, I used a meter to test the high voltage diode and fuses. After using the meter to ohm out the magnetron, I removed it from the unit, and seeing that the hole in the end of the magnetron's tube was enlarged and burnt, as if it was arcing, I assumed it was the bad part. I ordered the parts from Appliance... Read more
