Watched youtube video about taking door apart. did so carefully to not snap clips. it came apart fairly easily. cleaned smudged glass. whited-out scorch mark on metal screen. ordered new film. applied film carefully (it's sticky so line it up carefully for a one and done; no peeling and re-try). The removable unit was unscrewed from its support on top, and a replacement Grille Assembly for my 2005 GE Microwave oven model was found on AppliancePartsPros.com Easy as Pie! Ordered door switches, but didn't solve problem. Sent them back for credit. Ordered thermostat and it solved the problem. Microwave now works fine. The unit is only 7 years old and hope to get another 7 or more out of it. Thanks. Read more
I ordered a new fan and motor unit and replaced the faulty unit.The case of the microwave was easy to unscrew and remove. The most difficult operation was to remove the appliance from the wall bracket as it weighed about 28kg. The cable connection to the motor was a push fit. Read more
