Fault traced problem to high resistance in the burner connection that over heated the contacts in the control. I replaced the control, burner and receptacle. Parts were correct and the repair was completed in less than 30 minutes. Read more

My stove is probably 15 years old and when I was removing the screws that hold the burner in place on top of the stove top, both of them broke off so I had to replace the entire assembly. APP had all the parts I needed and were helpful on the phone. However when I was attempting to loosen the gas line to the burner the tubing wouldn't release from the brass nut and the tubing twisted too much. Basic trouble shooting. Ordered part, took awhile due to back order, but once part was received it took less than 10 minuets to grab my screwdriver and replace part.
