The belt was off of the pulley and the idler wheel was worn out. I replaced the idler pulley and the spring and put the new belt on and the washer is working fine now. Read more
I replaced the belt and the tensioner along with the spring for it. The tensioner c clip was hard to get to. There wasn't much room for my hands. Read more

I like fixing things and I like my 15 year old Frigidaire GLWS1649AS2, so I wanted to fix it. Researched this kenmore washer on-line and found the problem to be the lid switch. Saw a diagram on how to jump this switch by connecting a wire to both outside wires on the harness and voila! It worked! This is not a fix but it allowed me to finish the load of unwashed clothes and told me which part was bad (do not run washer jumped like this.......fire hazard!) Ordered the lid switch and it was an easy repair. A $14.00 switch was a lot cheaper than a $450.00 washer. Thanks appliance parts... Read more
