The right door seal and the freezer door seal are easily removed and replaced. They just pull out of the slot. These 2 new gaskets push in easily. This replacement compressor is made by LG. The compressor is the heart of the refrigerator and keeps pressure in the system while also adding the heat required to ensure the refrigerant works properly. This is the hardest-working component in the refrigerator and continually cycles on and off to do its job. That creates a great deal of wear and tear and will eventually cause the compressor to fail.Signs of a failing or failed compressor include hearing it cycle much more often than usual, the refrigerator not being as cold as usually, or the compressor not working at all. Replacing the compressor will require moving any perishables from the refrigerator to a safe, cold space. Unplug the refrigerator and pull it away from the wall. Locate the bottom access panel on the back of the appliance and remove it. The compressor will be located behind it.This compressor is a genuine OEM part and it is sold individually. It is compatible with LG refrigerators.

That left only two other failure modes - - signal pulse duration from control board, or the convoluted plastic link, lever, and cap assembly shaft binding/bending. Replaced them all. Since then operating correctly - - no further issues. It is possible the plastic levers and/or door cap shaft was binding, or bending, not allowing the cap to fully open. For... Read more
