- Disconnect power; also shut off water and/or gas before service
- Use proper lifting/support; sheet-metal edges can be sharp—wear cut-resistant gloves and eye protection
- Transfer any reusable fasteners, grommets, and brackets from the original base
- After reassembly, ensure the unit is square and level before returning to service
