Sticking/seizing agitator output shaft leading to belt failure leaving washer inoperable Jason L. • Lees Summit , MO • September 24, 2014
Perfectly! Replacing Agitator Shaft is not for the faint of heart. Replacing output shaft pinion gear on the bottom of the agitator shaft requires care, experience and patience with pressing/driving drift pins without damaging the gear itself. One slip of the drift/punch or press apparatus will ruin the gear/teeth face and will lead to failure of the transmission internally when put back into service. As best as I can tell the pinion gear is discontinued and no longer available so take care!...

Front panel was sliding off the frame. Thomas E. • Brattleboro , VT • March 11, 2023
I followed the excellent video demonstrating how to replace the fasteners. Although this sounds simple I would have struggled to put them in place without a visual demonstration.

Transmission needed replaced after 16 yrs John G. • York , PA • March 28, 2014
Ordered my replacement unit from APP, along with a few other "while I am fixing this I should replace that since I am disassembling the washer" parts also from APP. After 2 hours of repair work, the washer is back in full working as new order. The only recommendation to others is make sure you order ALL the parts for the job. Take time to investigate all that you will or might need to replace. An ounce of prevention is worth the pound of cure. Like the old line; measure twice and cut...

Lower brake bearing

After a process of elimination it turned out to be the brake assembly Ken M. • Pierson , MI • September 13, 2016
I first replaced the two drive belts and the motor springs. That didn't fix it although they did need replacing. I then replaced the two bearings and the brake assy. The washer runs like new. If you replace the brake assembly, you should also replace the bearings. It will save a tear down later on. The Maytag repairman wanted $600.00 dollars to do the job. I did it for less than $200.00.

Washer would only spin. Byron V. • Bellevue , MI • February 04, 2020
Found the wonderful parts diagrams you most generously share online and a couple of YouTube videos . I determined it should be repairable.
In my cast the agitator shaft was frozen (rusted) in place. I was very fortunate to have been able to eventually remove it with the use of a lot of BP penetrating oil and heat.
Long and short the replacement parts fit perfectly and the washer is running like new.
Special thanks to the online support make my repair possible.

20 year old washing machine would fill to the correct level but not agitate it would spin and drain Julie B. • Spring , TX • August 09, 2014
We opened the top control panel (4 screws) and found the wiring diagram. Following the diagram we determined that the pressure valve must be the problem. Ordered the part on a Sunday, it shipped Monday, and was delivered Wednesday. The replacement took a few minutes and we were back in business! Saved a great deal of $$$:)
