Very easy fix. Remove oven door by just opening it slightly and pulling up. (an easy way to clean it too). Then, with a phillips screw driver, remove two screws holding the damaged element in place. Slowly pull the element toward the front a couple inched to expose the wires. Disconnect the wires (no tools needed), remove the old element and replace it with the new. We srtripped the range down to where we could access all surfaces, taking cell phone pics as we proceeded. We uswed lots of bleach water to do the disassembly. Asswembly was easy once we had the new insdulation. Do not take apart the burner to supply tube connextion - there is a flange on the Whirlpool tube that can be damaged and must be replaced of so. All I had to do was unplug the appliance, unscrew the element in two places to free it from the oven shell and disconnect the leads, reversing the process with the new element. Super easy! Read more

First I remove screw on the mounting housing than I remove the panel of the back of the oven so I could trace the property wire the from the light housing than after locating the hook up location I put a colthing hanger through lamp assy opening in stove fish the wiring harness hook up and than mounted the lamp assy. all ok But I would reccoment that person would replace both lamp assy so a to have a strong light present Read more
I ordered a new panel and overlay from Appliance Parts Plus. The overlay was backordered which was a little frustrating but it came in at most a week later. The replacement was simple. All the plug ins were easy to remove and plug back in. The overlay fit right in place. Don't know what it would have cost to have an appliance repairman do the job but I am sure I saved hundreds. 1. Turn oven breaker off. 2. Slide oven out from wall. 3. Remove top oven door. 4. Remove side panels from the oven. 4.a Remove screws from back of oven. 4.b Remove two screws that hold stove top. 4.c Slide stove top a few inches to unplug stove electrical plug.
