Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Lost power to the microwave no display oven still worked   Jose L. • Timnath , CO • October 02, 2016

I have one of those combo units with the microwave on top and the oven on the bottom. The thermometer switch located on the upper right side mounted on top of the magnetron read open on a continuity test. Replaced the thermal fuse. Everything works fine now. Note: The thermal switch on the left side read closed, the fan switch on the lower right side read open. I just watched some youtube videos on what and how to test the components. The 20A fuse was good. So I tested the thermal... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Door would not finish closing on its own as it had before (exterior door "fresh food side")   Alice H. • Wickenburg , AZ • August 18, 2017

1) By using google to find videos on why the door wouldn't close, I found out I needed new cams, those same videos also showed how to remove and replace the door. 2) Then by googling the fridge model number and the word 'cam', I was able to find the parts. 3) Taking the door off was simple, I needed a phillips head screwdriver to remove the hinge cover, however the screws in the hinge plate were so tight, I needed a side handle socket wrench to loosen them. 4) The door itself is not hard to... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Our over the range microwave stopped working just shut off completely   Joyce P. • East Brunswick , NJ • December 03, 2016

My husband is the hero in this story. At this time in our lives we weren't looking to purchase another microwave. After 10 years at my company, due to a workforce reduction, my position was eliminated. He quickly realized it could be the fuse. We searched the microwave and the part on line and appliance part pros came up with the parts for our microwave. We needed the fuse and the fuse holder. For under $20 we were able to get the microwave working again. Thank you appliance part pros for... Read more

Microwave Control Board
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB27T10491

This replacement part is a control board for microwaves and is sold individually. A microwave control board is the main computer of the microwave that controls its main functions. If the microwave display is showing an error code or is not turning on, this could mean that the control board needs to be replaced. Thankfully, this is a fairly simple repair. To replace the control board start by making sure that the circuit breakers to the microwave are off. Then proceed to open the microwave door and unthread the screws securing the front vent. After removing the screws, use a putty knife to pry off the vent. Proceed to unthread the screws holding down the control assembly. Lift the control assembly to detach. Note the individual wires that are attached to the control board and disconnect them. Remove the assembly and unthread the four screws securing the control board. Disconnect the ribbon connector and lift out the old board. Align the new board on the mounting plate and thread the screws to secure. Connect the wires back to the new board in their correct terminals. Reinstall the removed control assembly and front vent. This genuine OEM part is a control board for GE microwaves and is compatible with GE, RCA, and Hotpoint brand microwaves.
