The Dishwasher Water Inlet Valve is an OEM part for Bosch dishwashers that is responsible for controlling the flow of water into the dishwasher at the start of each wash cycle. Causes of a bad water inlet valve can vary from mineral buildup from hard water, which can block the valve, to mechanical failure or wear and tear over time. Electrical issues can also affect the valve's operation, preventing it from opening or closing properly.
This OEM Bosch part can also be used on Thermador and Gaggenau appliances.
Leak was slow but becoming gradually worse. Pulled dishwasher out from under counter then visually inspected sump while it ran. As soon as the water got very hot, I could see the sump leaking where it meets the stainless pan. Searched for the correct sump gasket without success. Turns out that the gasket is built into the sump for this model. The built-in gasket is very narrow (under-engineered IMHO which is probably why it developed a leak). Replaced both the Spray Arm and the Spray Arm Water Supply Tube. Highly recommend replacing base plate whenever the Spray Arm Water Supply Tube is replaced. Plastic tabs on the base plate hold those parts together and are likely to break (as seen on Appliance Parts Pros installation video!!!). I sensed tab weakness so just transferred parts needed from the new tube to the old tube and reinstalled the original tube / base plate assembly rather than risk breaking those plastic tabs. I should... Read more
