This is a starter pulley used in trimmers and pruners. The starter pulley protects and encloses the starter rope. It includes a metal screw that is used to keep the rope in place while inside of the pulley. If the pulley is damaged, becomes cracked, or is lost, it can cause a malfunction and the rope may jam inside of the tool. When this occurs, the part will need to be replaced.Removed the starter to inspect the pulley for damage. The pulley should be replaced if needed. To replace the starter pulley, pull out the starter rope and use a screwdriver to secure the pulley and recoil spring. Remove the rope and screwdriver before releasing tension on the spring by rotating it. Next, take out the original pulley and replace all the other components.This starter pulley is a genuine OEM replacement part that is sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is sold as an individual part. The component is used with pole pruners and string trimmers manufactured by Craftsman, Poulan, Poulan Pro, and Weed Eater.
