My wife put a pan of bars under the ice maker to cool. This melted the ice in the bottom of the ice tray together. Once it froze the auger motor stripped the drive gear trying to dispense the ice that was frozen together. It worked on crushed for a little while since the auger motor runs backwards to crush ice but it still failed after a while. I bought this auger motor and swapped it out. Color: white. It measures about 1 inch wide by 1-1/2 inches high by 1 inch deep.
Purchased the new part, removed the old part (just slid out of place), Cleaned the new part and the clear plastic lid, reinserted the new part in the refigerator door. Snapped the clear lid in place, job done. Read more
