I emptied door shelves and used plastic sheet to close off refrigerator. The repair was done with refrigerator running. I removed door and changed riser cam and shim. Then replaced door. It took maybe 45 minutes from start to finish. If I did the job again it would be completed in 30 minutes or less. The videos are informative. Thank You Read more
Repairman determined the Defrost heater was out. Repairman wanted 3 week to get the part. I have shopped many times before at AppliancePartsPros for other appliance parts. The ice dispenser door was not closing tightly. As a result, there was frost build up in the ice chute, which also was allowing ambient air and temperature into the freezer compartment. Upon further inspection, there was black “schmutz” on the ice door, and the rubber ice funnel and deflector parts were deteriorating. I did have to dig out the tiny old broken pieces of glass from the front rubber edging with a knife blade. I tried both a screwdriver and needle nose pliers, but they were shredding the edge. Then I just popped it on and laid the glass in the slots. Super easy! Read more
