The Halogen Lamp is an OEM part for GE range hoods. It provides bright, illumination for proper visibility above the cooktop.

Halogen lamps experience wear over time from consistent heating and cooling duty cycles. Causes of failure can include normal burnout after hours of use, fracturing of internal filaments, or arcing faults within the lamp. 

Symptoms of a bad halogen lamp include:

• Diminished light output that makes seeing above the range difficult  
• Complete failure to light up when turning the hood on
• Shadows or dark patches visible within the illuminated area
• Premature flickering or instability of the lit area
