Ivan J. L Jordan , AR March 26, 2020 Appliance: Model EIED55HIWO The sensor moisture broke free and damaged the vane both parts had to be replaced. I moved the dryer away from the wall and unplugged it. I removed the screws holding the top in place, which allowed me to unscrew the vane. My wife held the new vane in place from inside the tub and I replaced the 3 screws which I had removed. The sensor was a little more complicated to replace. The original screw used to hold it in place was still in the interior frame inside of the tub, I removed the single screw. The original wiring was visible and appeared reusable. After several tries, I was able to attach them to the new sensor and slip the part in the place where it belonged. I attached it using the screw I had previously removed. Replaced the top cover, slid the dryer back near the wall, reconnected the outside vent hose, plugged it in and ran a test. I forgot to mention that I matched the new parts to the old parts to confirm the style and size were the same. The dryer is 11 yrs old and things can change over time. Once confirmed I proceeded to do the repair. I move slowly and study everything carefully, I took my time. I picked up some repair hints from the on-line pictures shown by AppliancePart Pros.Com when I placed my order. Read More...
