Alex P Coram , NY July 25, 2015 Appliance: Model GTUP270EM4WW Water leaking from bottom of washing machine I will say that the GE Washer/Dryer combo is nice if you need to save space, but trying to fix it was far from "fun". It took several hours to get to the location of the Seal Tub. First the dryer had to come off the top, then pretty much every bit of the internals needed to come out too, The seal could not be accessed from the bottom of the machine, and it wasn't easy to get to it from the top. If you have patience, and keep track of everything you did, so you can undo it, the project can be done. Just make sure you set aside a day, and leave open plenty of space. No drips now though! Scott H Kekaha , HI June 20, 2023 Appliance: General Electric Home Laundry Combo GTUP240GM4WW Noisy and leaking water under tub. Initially started on spin cycle then all the time. Tub seal was bad and transmission bearing bad I purchased the parts I thought I needed and found out I did not need to buy the washer, or seal. and not as the transmission came with these parts. I also purchased the spanner wrench TB123A I also needed the Agitator mounting bolt (Agitador WH01X10619 / AP5306325) as my rubber seal was destroyed when it was removed so I had to wait for it to come in to complete the job. As for the job, it did go fairly easy for me, but I am also a certified auto mechanic and a trained Jet engine mechanic. The problem I had was removing the basket assembly from the outer tub. After three days of penetrating fluid and a lot of beating on the transmission, it finally came loose. After cleaning all the old parts, the assembly went together easily. Make sure you get the spanner wrench and a large hammer to remove the nut, if you do not you will wish you did. Overall, this took me about 5 days due to the stuck tub and waiting for parts and cleaning old parts. I am sure it saved a lot of $$ compared to hiring someone to do the task.
