The Temperature Limiter is an OEM component specifically designed for select Bosch vented dryers requiring controlled airflow temperatures. As a safety device, it restricts exhaust heat to prevent overheating risks.
Precisely calibrated links of heat-treated alloys automatically trip circuits upon exceeding preset thermal thresholds. Protected housings shield reactive cores from moisture while allowing intended response capabilities.
Causes often involve years of exposure distorting sensitive triggering components slow to cool cycles. Intentional physical manipulation could also disable protection absent automatic overrides.
Symptoms of a bad temperature limiter include:
- Inability to sense and respond to rising exhaust air temperatures
- Lack of functioning cool-down phases from disabled safety trips
- Continuously energized heating systems without regulation posing risks
This OEM Bosch replacement limiter is also compatible with Thermador, Gaggenau and select Kenmore dryers employing sensitive temperature cutoffs. Correct installation restores critical safety control circuits.

Dryer was not heating Kyle C. • Springhill , TN • December 06, 2016
I have a Bosch nexxt 500 series dryer that stopped heating. It was still running fine, just no heat. I did some research and found the Limiter as the possible problem. I pushed the red reset button. The dryer started heating up, but with in 1 cycle kicked off again. I called A.P.P. and spoke to Cecilia. She was very helpful. After a brief description of my situation she recommended just to replace the Limiter. I did so and that fixed the problem. Very simple replacement. It look longer to take...
