After first thinking I had a leak under my sink (dripping into my workshop in the basement), I quickly traced the source back to my Bosch dishwasher. Conducted research on web, and via direct contact with AppliancePros where a diagnosis of replacing the water inlet valve and cleaning the sensor tube would "most probably" (80%) handle the issue. The remaining uncertainty would reside in the electronic board circuitry. My frig is a year and a half old, Frigidaire with french doors and freezer drawer. It has an upper ice maker for the door in the frig and a bottom ice maker in the freezer drawer. After noticing the flood, I shut off the water supply to the frig and cleaned up the mess. I replaced the supply lines and mesh in-line filters. I made sure incoming water pressure was strong. I also cleared some debris from the internal drain filter down below. The F20 persisted. My plan was to start swapping out parts from the inlet on. I ordered the valve and got it in a day. I had an authorized Whirlpool service tech come to look at problem diagnosed problem as water inlet valve leaking ordered the part. After 11 days I was told part was on backorder from Whirlpool. This repair addressed two problems with a 4+ year old GE Washer GTW460ASJ0WW: 1) Washer spontaneously turned itself on and all the controls were dead, no lights on the panel. 2) Water had been slowly leaking into the tub for over a year. I figured it was the valve, but searching on the Appliance Parts site, somebody said they fixed it by replacing the switch flood assembly. So I order both parts. The Switch Flood Assembly was easiest to replace, so I decided to try that first. When I pulled out the old assembly, I noticed it did not 'rattle', as the new one did. Replaced the water inlet valve assembly. That reduced the leakage to a smaller amount but did not fully stop the leakage. Replaced the ice maker assembly and that completed the repair. No leakage issues and ice maker is working with no issues. Read more

Replaced both inlet valves, no joy. Upon further inspection, found ice maker harness extremely tight at lower freezer door hinge, clamped in place right at a pivot point. Essentially the harness is held in place and rotates with the door. 6 wires broken inside. Splice repair and ice maker now works. Most likely will have to replace harness eventually. Unless there is more slack inside the freezer door this will probably happen again. Very poor design. Read more

To verify if you have a bad valve in the first place read on... I first pulled out the ice maker to remove all the frozen water including the inlet section which was a huge solid waterfall of ice. While it was out completely disconnected I cleaned/chipped out the freezer section ice puddle. I also completely melted the ice cubes and ice puddles off the ice maker at the fill bucket end in the sink with running water careful to not get water near the power cord area. I ordered a new pump on this website. They provided me with written directions as well as a video to follow along with on how to change the pump. As always it wasn't as easy as the video, but that was the mechanic no the tool! Great job on the service. Will order parts from here again. Read more

Using instructions I obtained over the internet, I first removed the DW's bottom cover panels so I could look inside the DW (with a flashlight) while it was running. I had to put their dishwasher through several wash cycles before I could pinpoint the location of the leak. (The water appeared to be coming from above on the left side of the DW, near the top, rear of the DW's blue "Pressure Chamber." Leak was slow but becoming gradually worse. Pulled dishwasher out from under counter then visually inspected sump while it ran. As soon as the water got very hot, I could see the sump leaking where it meets the stainless pan. Searched for the correct sump gasket without success. Turns out that the gasket is built into the sump for this model. The built-in gasket is very narrow (under-engineered IMHO which is probably why it developed a leak).
